Asphalt Paving Scams
The following information was received from the Better Business Bureau in Toledo on Monday, June 16, 2008
The Better Business Bureau just received a call from a homeowner who has been approached by Alstate Asphalt Company (Ronnie Broadway & William Broadway). The consumer lives off Heatherdowns Blvd. The company said they had extra asphalt and would pave the driveway for $850, they claimed to have the extra which was left over from a job at Rusty's Bar. The company is driving a Red Dodge pick-up truck.
THE COMPANY IS ALSO SAYING THEY ARE A BBB MEMBER - THEY ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THE BBB BELIEVES THESE ARE THE GYPSIES.
We believe this is the same company that paved a driveway in Ottawa County for $5000 - and the consumer in Ottawa county now (2 weeks later) has problems, the driveway is crumbling.
Each year the Sheriffs Office and local police investigate cases like this. The Ottawa County Sheriffs Office encourages anyone who suspects they may not be dealing with a legitimate business to contact the Sheriffs Office at 419-734-4404 or your local police immediately.
